About Us

American Solitude Photography was started by Travis and me six years ago. We sold our photographs at craft shows and at “The Quilted Bear”. A few years later, after I had married and paid an astronomical fee for okay wedding pictures, we decided to do wedding photography. I have been taking wedding portraits for four years now with Travis assisting me.

Both Travis and I have been doing portraits for the last two years. However, as with any good photographer, we both started long before then. We have been taking portraits at family gatherings since high school, at least. Both of us worked at a photo studio and were sick of how much rigidity there was. We wanted to be able to take beautiful portraits, not have to charge an arm and a leg, and give the customer good quality.

The philosophy behind American Solitude Photography is that you can get good photos for a decent price. We try to keep prices as low as we can and give you as many options as possible. If you read our pricing guide you’ll see that we are not outrageously priced. Also with every sitting or wedding you always get a CD with full copyrights. So you don’t even have to print through us!

All of our “Fine Art” we print for you in any size you would like. We will make suggestions as to what size might work best for that photo though. Both of us love the outdoors and love photographing the splendor of nature. It’s amazing how much we miss as we run about our lives. We hope to bring some of that solidarity that nature gives us into your home.
